About the course
The AMACE elderly caregiving course prepares students to care for older people with safety, affection and responsibility. It is a doorway into a profession that grows every year, ideal for anyone who wants to work in homes, clinics and nursing homes.
What the classes are like
Classes combine theory with plenty of practice. Students train on mannequins and in simulations of everyday care, such as hygiene, feeding, changing position and transferring from bed to chair, plus basic first aid and how to act in emergencies.
Structure
The course covers aging, basic health care, routine management, first aid and professional conduct with the older person and the family. The days and times for each class are announced when enrollment opens. At the end, students receive a certificate.
Who teaches
Sâmia Marques is a teacher of the AMACE elderly caregiving course. With hands-on, welcoming classes, she teaches that good care means combining technique, attention and respect, and she prepares students to enter the job market with confidence.
