AMACE's capoeira brings children, young people and adults one of the greatest expressions of Brazilian culture, which is fight, dance, music and roda all at once. It is an activity for anyone who wants to move their body, build discipline and be part of a group, no experience needed.
Classes start with a warm-up and the ginga, then move on to kicks, dodges and acrobatic moves, always respecting each student's pace. Music is part of the training: students learn the rhythms, songs and instruments of the roda, such as the berimbau and the pandeiro.
The course is ongoing, with hands-on group classes and rodas to put what was learned into play. The days and times for each class are announced when enrollment opens.
Mestre Zumba has dedicated his life to capoeira and to training new capoeiristas. At AMACE, he teaches with patience and joy, honoring the tradition of the roda and respect among students.
